Ek Din Ka Farmer

Escape the City. Reconnect with the Earth.

We live in a world where food comes wrapped in plastic and weekends are spent staring at screens. But there is a deep, quiet joy in stepping off the concrete and feeling the cool, dark soil under your hands.

"Ek Din Ka Farmer" isn't a classroom lecture. It is an invitation to step into the boots of a farmer for one day. Whether you are a parent wanting to show your children the real journey of their food from seed to their plate or an adult seeking a mindful escape from city life, this is where your hands get dirty and your mind gets clear.

What You Will Experience (Your Day as a Farmer):

  • The Foundation (Soil Prep): Forget the gym. Feel the satisfying burn of preparing the earth. You will learn to make natural, life-giving fertilizers like Jeevamrut using traditional methods.

  • The Promise (Sowing & Planting): Experience the quiet hope of planting a seed. We will guide you through the delicate art of nurturing tiny sprouts and transplanting them into their new home.

  • The Care (Nurturing): Discover how nature protects itself. You will mix and apply organic, natural sprays to keep the crops vibrant and healthy, without a single chemical in sight.

  • The Reward (Harvesting): There is nothing quite like the crunch of a vegetable you picked yourself. Experience the ultimate joy of plucking fresh, organic produce straight from the plant.

Who is this for?

  • Families looking to give their children a digital detox and a real-world education.

  • Curious beginners who want to try their hands at organic farming.

  • Anyone craving fresh air, physical activity, and a deep connection to nature.

 FAQs - Organic Farming

We have tried answering most of the questions we get frequently. If your question is not listed here, do get in touch with us.

Organic farming means growing food naturally—without using harmful chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, or genetically modified seeds. Instead, we use compost, cow dung, and natural methods that keep the soil alive and healthy. Unlike conventional farming, which often focuses only on fast growth and higher yield, we care about the quality of what we grow—and its impact on our health and the planet.

Because we believe food should be safe, clean, and honest—not just for us but for our children, too. We wanted to grow what we eat and offer it with full transparency to others who care about their health and nature.

No. We never use chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We rely only on natural compost, bio-enzymes, and age-old traditional methods to care for our soil and crops.

We use natural solutions like neem oil, fermented buttermilk sprays, and plant-based repellents. Also, healthy soil and diverse crops naturally help prevent major pest outbreaks.

We grow vegetables, pulses, seasonal fruits, and kitchen essentials that we and our customers use every day. We keep it simple, fresh, and local.

At present, we are not formally certified. But we invite anyone to visit our farm, see how we work, and even participate. Our trust is built through openness, not just labels.

Everything we do is shared openly—through videos, conversations, and even in-person visits. We explain our methods honestly, and customers can see where and how their food is grown.

Yes, absolutely. We welcome visitors who want to learn, experience, or just see the lifestyle in action.

That’s the heart of PRAJA’s model—we do both. We live on the farm and still continue our regular jobs, managing time wisely and using weekends or early mornings for hands-on farming.

Our children are part of this journey. Through daily life and Unschooling, they learn where food comes from, how to work with nature, and how to live with purpose.

We believe learning comes from living, not just textbooks. Farming teaches patience, science, responsibility, and connection—and our kids learn all that naturally by being involved.

We make our own compost using kitchen waste, dry leaves, and cow dung. This keeps the soil rich, alive, and chemical-free.

We mostly use native, traditional seeds that are time-tested and well-suited to our climate. Sometimes we use open-pollinated varieties if they align with our values.

We control weeds by hand weeding, mulching, and smart crop planning. Yes, it takes more effort—but it keeps the soil safe and clean.

Yes, that’s part of PRAJA’s mission. Even with a job, families can start small—on weekends, on a tiny plot, or with a group. We’re here to guide and support that dream.

Weather, time management, and sometimes people’s doubt. But staying true to our values keeps us going. Trust builds slowly but strongly.

We harvest only what’s needed, based on our small customer base. Everything is grown fresh, with love, and reaches the customer quickly—often directly by us.

Right now, we serve a small, trusted circle of families. As we grow, we plan to make our offerings available more widely—but always with transparency and personal connection.

Start small, stay consistent, and don’t compromise on values. Learn from the soil—it teaches patience and balance. You don’t need to leave your job. Just begin.

PRAJA is built on simple living, honest work, and shared learning. We respect nature, grow responsibly, educate freely, and build trust, one seed and one relationship at a time.
